Stacey Johnson // Owner // Director of SDS and Force Dance Troupe
Stacey started her dancing career at the age of 3. Dancing and teaching in a studio setting for 18 years studying: Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Pointe and Tap. With her studio she attended many conventions and competitions in her years of dancing. In the Summer of 2003 Stacey Traveled with Hoctor's Dance Caravan on a 12 week tour of the United States and was there bound to own her own studio. She found a new love for dancing in teaching and helping dancers in a special way. Stacey and her staff travel to many conventions each year to keep the studio abreast of the newest and current dance styles and techniques. The studio also attends Dance Teacher summit and Rhee Gold's workshops to always be updated to best and quality techniques to bring to Marietta for her studio. She attended Dance Teacher Web at the Red Rock resort in Las Vegas for continuing dance education July 2017-And attended Dance Teacher Summit in NY August 2018. We took a year off of Travel in 2019 and then Covid hit. We joined online training classes for that year to bring new programs to the studio. Stacey loves to think outside the box and therefore her studio style is very unique. Stacey's studio is a family, she creates a special closeness with all of her dancers and their parents to share her love for dance with them. Stacey opened her first studio in the Spring of 2000 in the small town of Lowell, Ohio. In the Fall of 2003 she took over a Dance Studio in the small town of St. Mary's WV. In 2006 she realized that a more central location for both would be beneficial and moved both of her studios to the Lafayette Center in Marietta. It was a great move for the dancers and staff and now the studio has over 150 students and still growing! She has many close friends who have influenced her life as a dancer/teacher. Jerry Rose, Chris Jones, Gregg Russell and Leah Summers to name a few-she brings them all in to share with her students many times a year. Stacey was the coach for the Marietta College Dance Team of Marietta Ohio 2000-2012. In 2008 the dance team became National Champions at Ameri-Dance in Columbus, Ohio. Stacey started "Force" Dance Troupe 2001. After 20 years the team has grown from 9 girls of all ages to a team of 36+ with four different levels: Mini, Jr, Teen and Seniors. Stacey is a member of Dance Studio Owners Association, CLI studios, Building Blocks of Dance, LLC, Acrobatic Arts, Dance to Learn and Princess Ballerina Programs. Continuing education and certifications are very important to Stacey and her staff. Stacey has created many fun programs unique to her studio!! Princess Program. Rachel Burnham // Tap//
Rachel started dancing with Stacey when she was 11 years old and loves Tap...if you have seen her, you can see that is loves her back! Rachel has been assisting/teaching for the past 11 years in all age groups and offering private lessons for tap instruction. She is the tap teacher for the BOSS Program and Silver Swans Program.
She was also a member of the Force Team for 6 years and is now a Choreographer and Assistant Director. Rachel's tap choreography has won many awards including a Cruise from KAR! Rachel graduated from Marietta College and was the captain of the Marietta College Dance Team. Rachel attended Dance Teacher Web at the Red Rock resort in Las Vegas for continuing dance education July 2017. She just attended Dance Teacher Summit in NY August 2018 to continue to bring the most current dance curriculum to our studio. She has danced at numerous conventions: Co Dance, Tremaine, Hollywood Vibe, Hollywood Dance Jamz, and more. In addition to dance, Rachel is a Group Fitness Instructor certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). She is also certified to teach POUND, Generation POUND, VeraFlow, AMPD Resistance, Floor Barre, Tap-N-Burn, Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Fitness, Pilates and is an ACE Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist. |
Sarah Hill //Assistant Director of SDS// Teacher//Certified Acrobatic Instructor//Assistant Director of Force Dance Troupe
Sarah had been an assistant teacher since 2004, a Teacher in all classes. We are proud to say she is now the assistant director of the studio as well as our Force Dance Troupe.
Sarah has been a member of Stacey's Studio since 2001 and was a member of Stacey's Senior Competition Group for 7 years. Sarah teaches in all of the combo classes at the studio, All Acro Classes, Boys Hip Hop, the Mommy and Me classes and Ballet Technique Classes. 16 Years of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater dancing for herself. She has attended Dance Teacher Summit with Stacey's to continue to bring the most current dance curriculum to our studio. She has danced at numerous conventions: Co Dance, Tremaine, Hollywood Vibe, Hollywood Dance Jamz, and more. She has also attended Acrobatic Arts training as listed below. Sarah is Certified by Acrobatic Arts CA as an Acrobatic Instructor. Level 1 and Level 2 Certified. (Primary Level-Pre Professional levels) and Aerial and backhand spring certified spotter. Sadie Cavitt //Hip Hop//Teacher//Force Dance Troupe Director
Sadie has been with Stacey's 11 years-but her dancing career has totaled 18 and will continue as long as she can. Sadie graduated from Marietta High School in 2016 and has been auditioning ever since. She was a member of Stacey's Force Dance Troupe for 11 years and now has extended her membership to choreographer and assistant to the directors as she dances again with her family this season. She always has been a performer and anyone who has seen her will say she is eye catching. She was a member of Marietta High School vocal point and was the group Choreographer. She has received multiple scholarships from KAR, Hollywood Vibe, Hollywood Dance Jamz, Co Dance and Monsters of Hip Hop. She attended Dance Teacher Web at the Red Rock resort in Las Vegas for continuing dance education July 2017. And attended Dance Teacher Summit in NY August 2018. Did you happen to catch her on Dance Monsters -Netflix show? Sadie was Ferg! She was a member of the World of Dance competition team for Pittsburgh PA and competed in Chicago for the team. Amazing experience! She is also a National winner at Hollywood Vibes Nationals in LA Summer of 2017 with her Hip Hop Solo. She was also a winner at Hollywood Dance Jamz Nationals in CA Summer of 2018! She was a member of Team Hollywood Vibe- and traveled to any city to be an assistant to the teaching staff. She was Marietta High Schools Vocal Point choreographer and has been the Choreographer for the high school musicals. She has also choreographed for the High School dance team. She is a professional with our local Dancing with the Doc's for cancer research fundraising. Sadie is the exclusive girls hip hop and Adult instructor at our studio. She also teaches all combo classes and offers private lessons. |
Cara Smith //Ballet Instructor//Ballet Program Director
My name is Cara Smith and I’m from Parkersburg WV. I started my dance training at Dancing Unlimited in St. Alban's WV near my hometown of Winfield. By my senior year of high school, I had participated in many competitions and earned a teacher's certificate from DU. About 10 years, I began volunteering at Schrader Youth Ballet in Parkersburg. During my time there, I taught ballet while substitute teaching for jazz and Appalachian clogging students. I was also actively involved in planning, costuming and productions. Productions include The Nutcracker, Little Match Girl, Alice in Wonderland, Songs Along the River, and annual spring performances. This is my second year with Stacey’s and have loved my getting to know my new family!For the last several years, I have been a proud member of the Mountain Rhythm Cloggers, an exhibition clogging group that can be seen around the Mid Ohio Valley and at fairs and festivals across WV and Ohio. I am the mother of a beautiful daughter, Abigail. Abbey is currently attending Brenau University pursuing a BA in Dance with a concentration in pedagogy. She is also under contract with the Gainesville Ballet Company, performing in their Nutcracker and as a soloist and corp member in Peter Pan. I've been blessed to have performed with my daughter many times over the years and am excited to see where her training takes her. We have a German Shepherd named Mia and 3 cats.

Victoria Humphrey //Vocals, Acting and Dancing
Victoria Humphrey is a rising senior at Marietta College where she is a Vocal Performance and Music Education double major. She started dancing at the age of 2, and danced and competed at Stacey’s Dance Studio for almost 11 years. She was also an assistant teacher at the studio, teaching 3-4 and 5-7 year old combo classes as well as most levels of tap. Starting at the age of 7, Victoria has been involved in numerous musical and stage productions, both on-stage and backstage in the MOV. Most recently, she played The Witch in Into the Woods. You may also recognize her as Sharpay from High School Musical: On Stage, Ursula from The Little Mermaid, and Fiona from Shrek: The Musical. She has also worked as a student choreographer for multiple shows. On the Marietta College campus, she is in several ensembles, including Concert Choir, where she is the soprano section leader, Floodstage Contemporary A Cappella, and the MC Barbershop Quartet. She is also the president of choirs, president of the student chapter of American Choral Directors Association, and a member of the Collegiate National Association for Music Educators. She is a member of the Mu Psi Kappa Music Honors Society. She has taken beginning and advanced levels of vocal pedagogy as well. She looks forward to working with your dancers (and singers) this summer!
Sarah Brooker// Tutu Cute, Tumble Bees Programs
Sarah Brooker started dancing at Stacey’s Dance Studio when she was 3 years old, and began competing with the Force Dance Troupe at age 10. She became an assistant teacher at the studio in 2018, teaching multiple age groups, including 3-4, 5-7, and 8-10 combo classes. She graduated from Wood County Christian School in 2021. In the Fall, will be a junior at Ohio University, where she is majoring in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences.
Sarah teaches our Tutu Cute and Tumble bees classes. She is also a sub for all of our dancing classes when needed.

Jasmine Gutberlet/ Fitness instructor/Strength and Conditioning
Through out my childhood, I was very active. I participated In competitive and school cheerleading. In 2011, I joined a gym, finding a different way to be active, and that’s when I fell in love with fitness. I am a certified personal trainer of 10 years, who has a passion for helping others reach their health and fitness goals. My focus is in personal training, group training, and online training, with clients from age 15 to 75. I strive to create a welcoming environment and experience to help individuals achieve their goals
